So what do the designation letters represent? Here is a descriptive list offered by the National Association of Realtors and its affiliates:
ABR® – Accredited Buyer’s Representative

ALHS -- Accredited Luxury Home Specialist

As a testimony to their commitment, these high caliber agents subscribe to The Luxury Home Council's strict guidelines that demonstrate the agent's expertise in this highly demanding segment of the real estate marketplace.
In a Wall Street Journal article dated today, writer Nick Timiraos reports that home prices are rising nationally while there are fewer homes on the market. He sites a report released yesterday by CoreLogic, a leading provider of information, analytics and business services. As posted on this blog on June 13th, we have seen inventory steadily decrease here in Indian River County.

The graph below depicts the number of months it would take to sell the existing residential listings on the market, May 2010 through May 2012. Inventory is down 75% from where it was two years ago. We now have approximately 5.6 months of inventory where two years ago in May, we had approximately 22.6 months. What does this mean? Now is a great time to Sell since there is less competition in the marketplace. Conversely, now is a great time to Buy as home prices are just now making an upward turn and mortgage rates are still low.
