Sebastian Area
Description
The City of Sebastian is an outdoor enthusiast’s dream and reminiscent of a small Key West-style fishing village with its metal roofed buildings dotting the riverfront. Offshore and river fishing, kayaking, boating and skydiving are just a few of the exciting activities this small city has to offer. The Sebastian Airport is the home of Skydive Sebastian, which is located between the St. Sebastian and the Indian Rivers and is just west of the Sebastian Inlet on the Atlantic Ocean. This jump site boasts gorgeous views of Florida’s waterways and coastline. Offshore anglers will find quick access to the Atlantic Ocean through the Sebastian Inlet, just minutes across the Indian River. Waterfront restaurants are plentiful and patrons enjoy wide river views and balmy breezes. Riverview Park and Sebastian’s River Walk, also along the Indian River, offers public fishing piers, picnic areas, volleyball nets, and a children’s water park and play area. The park is host to local festivals, art shows and concerts throughout the year. Sebastian is also home to Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge, which was created by President Roosevelt in 1903 as the first federal bird reservation and continues its service to birds of all types today. This Area is in Mainland
